Carmen Ortiz, Program Specialist – Student Services and Travel Registration, earned a B.A. in Linguistics and Global and International Studies with a minor in French from The University of Kansas. Some of her responsibilities include advising students on funding for study abroad programs, updating information for programs in the study abroad application system, and assisting the Associate Director for Student Services with daily tasks.
Carmen started working at the Office of Study Abroad as an Office Assistant in August of 2015, and in her current role in September of 2017. As part of her undergraduate degree, she studied abroad twice – one semester her sophomore year in Angers, France, and one semester her senior year in Prague, Czech Republic. Additionally, she held an internship with Post Bellum working on the Memory of Nations project during her semester in Prague. Carmen has also traveled recreationally to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and Ireland.
