Program Summary: 

The Danish Technical University (DTU), the leading center for engineering education and research in Denmark, is located in suburban Lyngby, just a short bus or commuter train ride from the magnificent city of Copenhagen. Courses are taught in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Construction, Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, as well as Energy, Information Systems and Applied Physics. Presently 200 out of 700 courses offered at the MA level are taught in English. DTU is working to offer all Bachelors' level courses in English. Students can take exams in English or Danish and will find a wide variety of classes offered which meet KU School of Engineering requirements at the B.S. or Master's level.

Academic Information: 

DTU courses and grades will be posted as KU equivalents on your KU transcript and grades will figure into your KU GPA. The relevant KU academic department will make the final decision regarding posting of credit and grades, and their application toward graduation.

Housing: 

Students live in apartment-style dormitories on campus, or in the northern areas of Copenhagen. Students usually have a single room with their own bathroom, while sharing a kitchen and common area with up to ten other students.
 

Eligibility: 

Engineering majors. Second semester sophomore standing. GPA of 2.8 preferred.

Study Abroad Financial Advising
The Office of Study Abroad has weekly 'You Can Afford to Study Abroad' Financial aid and Scholarship Info Sessions/Open Meetings on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm and Thursday afternoons from 12:30-1:30 pm in room 203 Lippincott Hall.  For those that can not attend the weekly Info Sessions, we also offer individualized study abroad financial planning as well as financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.
