Tiphani Dixon, Program Coordinator holds an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Indiana University. Her main duties include advising students and coordinating faculty-led program opportunities in Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, the Continent of Africa and the Middle East, as well as advising students interested in pursuing Fulbright scholarships.

Tiphani’s international experience began in 2010, where she studied abroad at Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku and Momoyama Gakuin Daigaku—both in Osaka, Japan focusing on language study. Her graduate research examined how the intersection of race, national identity, and gender impacts interpretation and consumption of Blackness in Japan. Within a study abroad context, Tiphani focuses on diversity and inclusion, and the accessibility of study abroad to diverse student groups. Tiphani previously served as an interpreter small town near Tokyo for a construction company, and as a study abroad advisor at the University of Missouri.

Study Abroad Financial Advising

The Office of Study Abroad has weekly 'You Can Afford to Study Abroad' Financial aid and Scholarship Info Sessions/Open Meetings on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 pm and Thursday afternoons from 12:30-1:30 pm in room 203 Lippincott Hall.  For those that can not attend the weekly Info Sessions, we also offer individualized study abroad financial planning as well as financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.
