University of Exeter
- With a population of around 100,000, Exeter is the county seat of Devon in southwest England. In recent years it has consistently rated in national surveys as one of the best places to live in the UK.
- Exeter is among the top universities in the UK for student satisfaction, ranked in the top 10 nationally for overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey every year since the survey began in 2005. The Times Higher Education institutional ranking places the University of Exeter in the top 1% of universities in the world.
- Exeter has been named Britain's 2012/13 University of the Year by the Sunday Times.
The KU Great Britain Direct Exchange Program (GBDX) is designed to stimulate and enrich the intellectual development of KU students through a direct experience in the British academic and cultural environment, promoting friendship with Great Britain and broadening international horizons. To realize this mission, KU has signed direct exchange agreements with ten universities in Great Britain, which allow KU students to study for a semester or year abroad at greatly reduced costs. In exchange, British students from these same universities will study for a semester or year at KU.
Dates
The fall semester at the University of Exeter will generally start at the end of September, with final exams finishing in late December for some subjects, with some subjects offering exams finishing in mid-January.
The spring semester at the University of Exeter begins in the second half of January with final exams concluding around the end of the first week of June.

The national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor and the heritage coastline of Devon and Cornwall provide not only spectacular scenery, but also plentiful opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. The coastal town of Exmouth with its sandy beaches is only 20 minutes away on the train.
The Streatham Campus, which is the home to the majority of the university's 10,500 students, is built around a former country estate and overlooks the city, which is only a short walk away. The grounds are noted for the collection of rare trees and other plant species, which flourish in the milder climate of the South West region. In fact, the University is reputed to have one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK. The campus buildings, residence hall and most University flats are all conveniently situated within walking distance of one another.
Academic Program
Semester/Year
Students may earn up to 30 hours of KU credit for the year. Most disciplines are offered in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business, Education and Health Fields. Students are encouraged to visit the University of Exeter's website to determine if Exeter offers the selection of courses to meet their graduation requirements.
Exeter courses and grades will be posted as KU equivalents on your KU transcript and grades will figure into your KU GPA. The relevant KU academic department will make the final decision regarding posting of credit and grades, and their application toward graduation.

Summer
The Exeter International Summer School (LISS) is a three week program open to University of Kansas students. Students take one class, worth four KU credits during the program. Several field trips and excursions are included in the program. Some of these trips will be connected to particular classes, while others will be for the entire ISS group outside of classes. The 2024 Exeter International Summer School will run from July 2 to July 29.

Students live in university residence halls or student apartments on or near campus. In most cases students will have a single room and will share a common kitchen and bath. Students will have meals provided, prepare their own meals, or purchase meals at reduced cost in the university cafeteria, depending on their choice of residence.

Open to KU students who have achieved junior status by the beginning of the program and who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. Exceptions may be made for sophomores with high academic qualifications who meet the course prerequisites. Some of the academic departments at Exeter may have additional requirements, including pre-requisites and number of credit hours completed.
