Michele Arellano, Associate Director, holds a M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and a B.G.S. in Sociology both from the University of Kansas.  Her main responsibilities are managing the online study abroad application system, overseeing all student services functions (enrollment, financial aid, payments), serving as liaison to student success and enrollment management offices (Admissions, Advising, Bursar, Financial Aid and Scholarships and Registrar)  and assisting the Director and Associate Director with daily office management.

Michele has been with the KU Office of Study Abroad since July of 2002. Prior to working in Study Abroad she was a Financial Aid Advisor and Verifier at the KU Financial Aid and Scholarships office.  Although Michele did not study abroad in the traditional sense, she spent most of her youth abroad (12 years), living in the Philippines, Yemen and Indonesia and traveling throughout Southeast Asia and Western Europe.  Her most recent travels were to Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico and she hopes to some day visit family in Vietnam and Japan.
