Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne is one of the largest universities in France with approximately 40,000 students and is one of the few descendants of the Sorbonne, one of the earliest universities in the world. At the cross-roads of tradition and modernity, it aims to be a major pole of research and learning in Europe in the 21st century. Paris I is at the forefront of research and teaching in the fields of (i) economics, management, and applied mathematics to social sciences, (ii) Law and political sciences, and (iii) human sciences.
Students have the opportunity to take courses in English in the areas of Economics, Math, Finance, and Business. These courses are intended to prepare students for a wide range of careers which necessitate competency in economic theory, macroeconomics and financial forecasting, financial engineering and risk management, quantitative asset management, computational economics, quantitative trading, and applied and theoretical research.
Courses in Economics, Math, Finance and Business are offered in English. Students with sufficient proficiency in French (a score of at least C1 on the DELF/DALF, TEF or TCF) can take courses in Law, Political Science, History, Art History, Geography, Philosophy, Visual Arts and Archaeology. The university offers optional intensive French language courses to exchange students prior to the start of each semester during "integration week".
Courses and grades will be posted as KU equivalents on your KU transcript and grades will figure into your KU GPA. The relevant KU academic department will make the final decision regarding posting of credit and grades, and their application toward graduation.

Undergraduate and Graduate Economics and Mathematics students are encouraged to meet with Dr. Bernard Cornet in the KU Department of Economics to discuss their academic plan for their semester abroad at Paris 1. For students wishing to study Economics, Math, Finance, or Business in English, a minimum 2.5 GPA and junior status is required. French proficiency is not required.
For students who would like to study in French, a minimum 2.5 GPA and a TEF, TCF or DELF/DALF score of at least C1 is mandatory.
