Kate Gerken, Program Coordinator, holds a M.Ed. in Education and a B.A.  in Journalism from Iowa State University.  Kate’s main responsibilities include coordinating KU’s international internship programs and coordinating the CIMBA, Italy program.   She has worked for Study Abroad & Global Engagement since the spring of 2010.

Prior to working for Study Abroad & Global Engagement, Kate worked for the CIMBA Italy Program at the University of Kansas and then at the University of Iowa when the program headquarters moved there.  Kate discovered her passion for studying abroad and international travel while a student at Iowa State (ISU).  As an undergraduate, she participated in ISU’s Study & Work in Britain Program in London and then returned to the United Kingdom as a graduate student to do a practicum in student affairs at the University of Glasgow Crichton Campus in Dumfries, Scotland.
